2026 Sefton Council Call for Sites
Overview
Sefton Council are currently undertaking a 'Call for Sites' process to allow sites to be promoted for development. The Call for Sites will be used to inform a new Local Plan for Sefton and sites submitted may be considered for development in the new Local Plan.
Sites can be promoted through the call for sites for a range of uses, and anyone is able to submit a site for consideration, regardless of whether they own it or not. However, in order to allocate land for development, we will need to be sure the land owner(s) are supportive.
It should not be assumed that sites allocated for development in the current Sefton Local Plan (April 2017) that have yet to be developed, will be automatically carried over to the next Local Plan. Undeveloped sites from the current Local Plan should be submitted in this call for sites so that we can consider if they remain suitable for development.
