What the Plan Must Do
- Manage development in areas at risk of flooding or erosion and ensure areas at most risk are left undeveloped.
- Plan for long‑term coastal change and resilience.
- Ensure sustainable drainage systems are incorporated when needed in new development.

- The changing nature of Sefton’s coastline.
- Sea, river and surface water flood risks and how these can impact the location of new development.
- Working in partnership working with the Environment Agency and United Utilities.
