What the Plan Must Do

  • Support healthy lifestyles through planning.
  • Address inequalities and ensure services are accessible.
  • Plan for accessible open spaces, nature, sports facilities, and community infrastructure.
  • Ensure all communities have access to affordable, nutritious, and fresh food.
  • Limit the expansion of poor quality, unhealthy food and fast food, particularly in low income areas and close to schools and colleges.
  • Make sure places are safe and crime and the fear of crime are addressed so people feel confident to use community spaces.
  • Help reduce pollution, including air, noise and water pollution.
