A565 Junction Improvements Phase 1
Coastal Road / Moor Lane / A565 Formby Bypass (Liverpool Road)
We are planning the following improvements to the junction at Coastal Road / Moor Lane / A565 Formby Bypass (Liverpool Road):
1. A cycle lane and footway on the Formby Bypass to link into the existing ones.
2. A new crossing on Moor Lane, making it easier and safer for people walking and cycling to cross the road.
3. An upgraded crossing on Liverpool Road to improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
4. An upgraded crossing on Coastal Road to provide improved facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.
5. Changes to the southbound side of the junction to create more space for people walking and cycling, including a larger waiting area in the middle of the road, a new pedestrian crossing and a dedicated cycle crossing.
6. We are also reviewing how the current crossing near to the Willowbank Holiday Home and Touring Park on the Coastal Road may be improved.
