Developing Sefton's Health & Wellbeing Strategy 2020-2025
Overview
What is this survey about?
This survey asks about what matters most to you about being healthy and happy. Your responses will help us to make our plans for health and social care in Sefton for the next 5 years.
This will make sure that the services and opportunities that are available to support people in Sefton will help them to have the best life they can.
What is the Sefton Strategic Needs Assessment?
The Sefton Strategic Needs Assessment is a report about the needs of people that live in Sefton.
To get a good picture local councils and health services have to work together to find out what local people need to stay healthy and happy.
Sefton Council, the NHS and others are working together to talk to people about what they need and how they can use money better to make this happen.
Why do we need a Strategic Needs Assessment?
A Strategic Needs Assessment collects information about the needs of everyone who lives in Sefton.
The information in it helps plan services for now and the future. This includes health services and support services from the Council. It is used to help decide what services the Council and health services should pay for.
It helps make decisions on how to provide good services to meet the needs of all adults and children in Sefton.
It will help to make sure that the right services are available and that they are put in the right places for people to go to.
We know a lot of information, but we need to update this as the information changes every year.
What is Sefton Health and Wellbeing Strategy?
The information from the Strategic Needs Assessment, as well as what you tell us is important to you, is used to make a plan called the Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
This tells you what the Council and Health Services are planning to do to make sure that everyone in Sefton can stay healthy and well and what they will do for those who need support to stay well.
We need to update our Plan so that it includes what the Strategic Needs Assessment is telling us now.
Our plan is split into different parts:
Start Well and Grow Well (Children and Young People)
Living and Working Well
Age Well (Older People)
Things that affect everybody
Why your views matter
What we are asking you about?
We want you to tell us whether you think the things that the Strategic Needs Assessment says is right.
We also want you to tell us what else is important to you that isn’t in the Strategic Needs Assessment.
We know all of the things you would like us to do are important, but we don’t have enough money to do everything even though you think it is very important.
What we will do with what you tell us?
We will use what you tell us to make sure that our Plan to help people stay healthy and well in the future is the right one and will make sure we are providing the right services for all the people of Sefton and that we are making things better.
It will also help us to make sure that our priorities – or the list of most important things – to keep people healthy and well are the right ones.
What will happen next?
We will look at what everybody has told us and then use this to develop our draft Health and Wellbeing Strategy which we will then show to the Health and Wellbeing Board.
We will then ask you to look at the draft Strategy and tell us if you think it is saying the right things. We will do this in the Autumn (November/December 2019).
If you would like us to let you know when this is happening please give us your name and contact details.
We won’t pass your personal information on to anybody else or use it for anything else other than what we have told you in the privacy notice.
