Sefton Bowling Clubs Survey 2025/2026
Overview
Sefton’s current Playing Pitch and Outdoor Sports Strategy (PPOSS) was approved in 2023, and prepared in line with national guidance. The PPOSS assesses the demand and supply for outdoor sports in Sefton, including bowls, and sets out a number of recommendations and a strategic approach to provision. This can inform investment and funding decisions, including funding bids.
National guidance says that PPOSSs should be reviewed regularly to keep them up to date. Completion of this survey will help the Council and its partners such as sports National Governing Bodies to gain an up-to-date picture of demand and supply for each sport, including bowls. We would be grateful if you would fill in the survey on behalf of your club (one response per club).
The Council aim to publish a summary of results in the ‘Annual Review’ document currently under preparation, which will be available online. Much of the assessment in the document will be on at the level of Sefton’s five main settlement areas, though there may be some references to certain information in relation to some clubs.
Therefore, we will need to retain and share your information (other than any contact details) within the Council, with the Bowls Development Alliance and with the British Crown Green Bowling Association (https://www.bcgba.org.uk/). This information will be retained to feed into an ‘Annual Review’ of the Sefton Playing Pitch and Outdoor Sports Strategy (PPOSS) which is being prepared currently. It will be retained to feed into any future Annual Reviews and any future update of the Sefton Playing Pitch and Outdoor Sports Strategy.
This survey collects IP addresses, which helps to see if multiple responses to surveys are being provided from the same IP address.
Please note that at the end of this survey, before submitting your results, you will be asked if you want to provide an email address so that you can receive a PDF copy of your response. This is completely optional. The email address is only used to send the email to you via the online consultation system provided by Delib as the data processor. The email address will not be stored with the responses and Sefton Council will not have access to it.
If you would prefer a paper copy of the form, please contact your county officer or the Council at Planning.localplans@sefton.gov.uk. If you wish to return a completed form in the post, please send it to
