Sefton Highways Annual Survey

Closed 31 Oct 2019

Opened 24 Jun 2019

Overview

Welcome to our annual survey, and thank you for taking the time to participate and give us your views.

The Highway network is the largest community fixed asset for which local authorities are responsible. It is vital and fundamental to the economic, social and environmental well-being of the community.

The survey will help us to understand what you think of Transportation and Highway Infrastructure services in Sefton, including:

  • The condition of the roads
  • Street lights
  • Pavements and footpaths
  • Traffic congestion and pollution
  • Cycle facilities

We want to know if you think these could be improved and what your priorities are; this is your chance to have your say. The survey can be completed by anyone who lives, works or travels in Sefton.

(Please note that at the end of this survey, before submitting your results, you will be asked if you want to provide an email address so that you can receive a PDF copy of your response. This is completely optional. The email address is only used to send the email to you via the online consultation system provided by Delib as the data processor. The email address will not be stored with the responses and Sefton Council will not have access it. You may be asked for your email address as part of the survey and if so, there will be a Privacy Notice explaining why we are asking for this and you can choose whether to provide your email address or not on this basis.)

Why your views matter

This is the fourth year in which we have undertaken this survey, mainly for the following reasons:

(a) As part of the Council’s promise to aim to put people at the heart of what we do.

(b) The identified need to ensure that Highways & Public Protection - Transportation & Highway Infrastructure Services Division aims to become more focused on the customer.

(c) The wish to adhere to recommendations published within the DfT Highway Maintenance Efficiency Programme publication “Prevention and a Better Cure” - Pothole Review.

(d) To maximise all and any future funding opportunities from the DfT Incentive Fund, which rewards Councils who demonstrate they are delivering value for money in carrying out cost effective improvements.

(e) Amongst these improvements is the establishment of a communications strategy and in accordance with the suggestion that part of this should include the undertaking of public opinion surveys on an annual basis.  2019 will be the fourth year in which we undertake this annual survey. Results from previous years' surveys can be found on the Sefton website (see link below)
