Private Housing Licensing Consultation

Closed 31 Jul 2022

Opened 9 May 2022

Overview

Private Housing Licensing

We are now consulting on the proposal to re-designate our Selective and Additional (Houses of Multiple Occupancy) licensing for privately rented properties across designated parts of the borough for a further five years, from 1 March 2023 to 28 February 2028.  You can participate in the consultation and/or access further information on the schemes on the link below.

Why your views matter

The current licencing schemes has enabled Sefton Council to work with private landlords in the areas, to improve their standards of management. This, in turn, has resulted in improved living conditions for their tenants as well as improvements for the wider areas. By extending the scheme for a further five years, we aim to build on this success and bring about further benefits for landlords, tenants and those communities.

The above consultation has now opened and will run for 12 weeks, until 31 July 2022
