Adult Social Care Improvement Plan Coproduction Group

Overview

Help Us Make Adult Social Care Better.

Sefton’s Adult Social Care service was checked by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in 2025.  The Care Quality Commission (CQC) checks health and social care services in England.

The CQC checks if services are:

  • Safe – People are protected from harm
  • Caring – Staff treat people kindly and with respect
  • Effective – Support helps people live well
  • Responsive – Services listen and meet people’s needs
  • Well-led – Services are run properly

The CQC gives services a rating like:
Good, Requires Improvement, or Outstanding.

  • Sefton Adult Social Care service was rated Good.
  • We want to be Outstanding.

To make these changes happen, we have a Co‑Production Group.
This means people work together to make services better.

Who Can Join the Group?

We want to work with:

  • People who use adult social care services.
  • Carers and family members.
  • Community groups.
  • Adult Social Care staff.

Why your views matter

You do not need special skills to join.
You just need to want to help.

Your voice matters.
Together we can make Adult Social Care in Sefton Outstanding.

What We Will Do Next.

1. Make an Improvement Plan Together.

We will work with people who use services, carers and staff to create the plan.
Everyone helps decide how we can change.

2. Add the Actions to Our Adult Social Care Plan.

The actions from the Improvement Plan will be put into our Adult Social Care Service Plan.
This means the actions become part of the work we do every day.

3. Check Our Progress Often.

We will keep looking at how we are doing.
We will ask people for feedback to make sure things are improving.

4. Report on Our Progress.

We will tell the Cabinet Member and Overview and Scrutiny Committee how things are going.
We will share what is working well and what still needs to change.

5. Join National Discussions.

Sefton will take part in national conversations about how the CQC checks adult social care.
We want to help improve how services are checked across the country.

6. Prepare for the Next CQC Visit.

The CQC will visit again in the future.
We do not know the date, so we will keep preparing to make sure we are ready.

Why We Need You.

Your experiences and ideas can help us:
